Books and Blogs
I have an enormous amount of cooking books. Most of them not very good. At least, I don't use them. I intend to put here only those I actually use and like.
Yotam Ottolenghi is what would happen if God came to earth and instead of going for woodwork, he had decided to become a cook. I love many of Ottolenghi's books, but my two preferred ones are:- Simple. Usually Ottolenghi's recipes have a long list of ingredients and take a while to make. The recipes in Simple are often surprisingly simple, but they are still Ottolenghi, and that means that anybody who comes and tries them will we awed. Not all recipes are vegetarian, but a lot are. This fantastic red lentils soup comes from this book.
- Jerusalem was the first of Ottolenghi's books I got. I should write more about it, but I am too lazy now.
- Every grain of rice, by Fuchia Dunlop. I love that book.
- I often look at the blog The Woks of Life. Evidently, I also own their book...
